वर्ड (Word) को माइक्रोसॉफ्ट (Microsoft) के द्वारा डाकुमेंट्स तथा रिपोर्ट्स बनाने के लिये तैयार किया है। इसे सीखना बहुत आसान है। यदि आपने वर्ड में कभी काम नहीं किया है या उसके विषय में अधिक नहीं जानते तो तैयार हो जाइये सीखने के लिये।

बुनियादी बातें:

जब आप वर्ड को खोलते हैं तो वह नीचे दिये गये स्क्रीनशाट जैसा दिखाई देता है:

स्क्रीनशॉट में सबसे ऊपर की नीली पट्टी इनफॉर्मेशन बार (Information Bar) कहलाता है। इसमें डाकुमेंट के विषय में जानकारी होती है।

उसके नीचे की पट्टी को मेनू बार (Menu Bar) कहते हैं। इसमें 9 मेनू होते हैं जिनके नाम हैं - फाइल मेनू (File Menu), एडिट मेनू (Edit Menu), व्हियु मेनू (View Menu), इन्सर्ट मेनू (Insert Menu), फॉर्मेट मेनू (Format Menu), टूल्स मेनू (Tools Menu), टेबल मेनू (Table Menu), विन्डो मेनू (Window Menu) और हेल्प मेनू (Help Menu)। इन सभी मेनू के विषय में हम आगे विस्तृत चर्चा करेंगे।

मेनूबार के नीचे की दो पट्टियाँ टूलबार (Tool Bar) कहलाती है जिसमें विभिन्न आइकॉन्स (Icons) बने होते हैं। इन आइकान्स के विषय में इस ट्यूटोरियल को पढ़कर धीरे धीरे आप जानते जायेंगे।
